They see hundreds of people a day, and whoever goes there is just a number. Forget about refills, either....it could be a life and death medication, and it will take you days or even weeks to get a refill. Even if the pharmacy calls over to try to get you a refill, they will deny it. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would not let my dog be seen by these people!
Efficient and organized
Very happy with doctor and care. Communication with staff by phone not always the best.
Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!! Stay away from this place at all cost...There are so many other places nearby that actually care. I went to see the new physician practicing there several months ago. I am diabetic and my mother had recently had a triple bypass, so I was very concerned about my cholesterol. I had blood drawn and was told I would hear something back within 2 days. A week went by, and I finally called to find out my results. I got the run around for the next 3 days, at which time, my Dad suffered a stroke. I was having to go out of town on emergency to be with him, and I still had not received my test results. I called the office and demanded to know my test results, to which I was told that the Dr. had not even looked at my chart or results from the now 2 weeks since I had been there. Finally, I got out of them that my cholesterol was high enough to warrant medication, but that it would be at least another week before anything could be called in for me, they were just SOOOO busy. I was OUTRAGED! I ended up going to Doctor's Express in Beaufort, where they requested my records/test results be faxed over, so they could give me a prescription for cholesterol medicine, since I was going out of town for an indefinite period of time, and felt it would be dangerous to need the meds and not have them. I waited almost 2 hours at Drs. Express, because the people at Memorial Health were giving the Drs. Express team a hard time about giving them my info. Only after I threatened to get in my car, drive over to Memorial Health, and pick up MY RECORDS myself, did they FINALLY fax them over.
I called the doctor office telling them I have had a couple of asthma attacks in the past two days, and I asked them to fill a maintenance inhaler, which is probably why I have been having the attacks. First, the medical assistant wasn't familiar with the medication, which is scary considering it is one of the most commonly prescribed medications for asthma. Secondly, she should have rushed the order to the doctor. Instead, I called a few hours later to ask when the prescription would be filled. "It takes at least 24 hours." Really?! No exceptions, even for someone who's having asthma attacks! Finally, I called a specialist. They were so disturbed when I told them I was having asthma attacks, they called it in immediately. I'm not saying the primary care physical at Memorial Health is a bad doctor. But if your staff makes up the office and is a reflection on you and your level of professionalism, what does that say about you as a doctor? Total patient disconnect.
